What worked 6 months ago might already feel stale… and filmmaking is no exception.
When I hit a creative wall, I go hunting for inspiration.
Lately, 3 techniques keep jumping out:
🎞 The Analog Comeback
Digital feels too perfect. Film stock, archival textures, and gritty, nostalgic visuals bring back that tactile, human feel. It’s raw—and it cuts through the noise.
🔂 One-Shot Spots
One continuous shot with zero edits can pull you in deeper.
It’s trending on social, and making a comeback in Hollywood (The Studio, Adolescence).
🌀 Surrealism
Dreamlike storytelling. Impossible visuals. Stuff that breaks reality and stops the scroll. Surrealism is quietly redefining how stories get told on social.
These are the artistic shifts I’m seeing right now.
What are you seeing out there?
