Mr. Beast does what?

Mr. Beast does something in the first three seconds of his videos that brands could learn from.

It’s not the crazy challenges. It’s not the budget, the stunts, or the production scale. It’s just the opening.

Almost every single video starts with something unresolved… a tension, a moment that feels incomplete, and your brain immediately wants to know where it goes. Take a hook like “gave my 100 millionth subscriber an island.” You’re already wondering who gets it. And now you’re watching.

That’s the “Open Loop.”

The idea is pretty simple. You start the story but you don’t close it yet. You give just enough to spark curiosity, not enough to resolve it. And that gap is what holds people.

Most brand content is doing the exact opposite right now. It opens with the campaign message, explains the product, shows the logo and by the time anything interesting could happen, the story is basically already finished. There’s nothing left to stay for.

The fix isn’t complicated. Start with curiosity, not explanation. Let the question pull people in and answer it later. That’s the whole difference between content people finish and content they scroll past in two seconds.

That’s the whole thing. It sounds obvious when you say it out loud, but almost nobody is actually doing it.
